    Hi, I’m Krista.

    Strategic communicator and storyteller.

I am the wife of a very talented musician who takes me around the world in pursuit of excellence. Mama to Jakob, Audrey and Ella, who just happens to have Down Syndrome.
And an aspiring disciple of Jesus, defender of the oppressed, writer, graphic designer and photographer.

I write and speak on navigating through the fog of life…you know, when things don’t go exactly as planned and am fuelled by a passion to amplify the voices of those on the margins…
    oh, and coffee…lots of coffee.

It’s Giveaway Time!!!

December 3, 2011

Ella never ceases to amaze me. Everyday she learns new skills and brings joy to everyone she meets.
Despite what the majority of society may believe, even though she has Down Syndrome, she lives a full and beautiful life.

But there are other places in the world where children born with Down Syndrome are rejected and left to die in understaffed, underfunded orphanages and institutions. They are tied to cribs, uncared for, unloved and neglected.

Many of them have health conditions which jeopardize their lives and yet can be easily corrected with a simple procedure or basic medical attention.

These are children just like Ella. And my heart breaks as I picture them day in and day out without a mother or a father to give them the most basic of human needs. Love.

Reece’s Rainbow is an organization which helps forever families find these children. But these children cannot be freed without a ransom and each adoption costs tens of thousands of dollars.

This Christmas give the gift of a family. Jakob is a baby boy who is just 7 months old and has congenital heart disease. With early intervention and proper medical care, however, he could thrive just like Ella.

Not only will you be giving the gift of a family but you will also get a chance to win an itunes gift card.

There are three cards to win, each valuing $30.

You must donate to Jakob to get an entry, and after that there are three more ways to win.

1.) Donate to Jakob and leave a comment = 1 entry
2.) Share this on Facebook and leave another comment = 1 entry
3.) Blog about this giveaway and leave another comment= 1 entry
4.) Like Reece’s Rainbow on Facebook and leave another comment =1 entry

Just to be clear: If Sarah donates, shares this on facebook and blogs about it, she gets 3 entries! But you must donate first to be eligible for subsequent entries.

The giveaway will be open until December 25th and winners announced shortly thereafter.

What are you waiting for? Donate here. Every dollar counts and if you donate $35 or more you will receive an Angel Tree Ornament from Reece’s Rainbow.

If you want to know more you can check out this short video.
And if you want to up the anti and donate an item for the giveaway please contact me.

Thank you so much. Happy Giving!
