    Hi, I’m Krista.

    Strategic communicator and storyteller.

I am the wife of a very talented musician who takes me around the world in pursuit of excellence. Mama to Jakob, Audrey and Ella, who just happens to have Down Syndrome.
And an aspiring disciple of Jesus, defender of the oppressed, writer, graphic designer and photographer.

I write and speak on navigating through the fog of life…you know, when things don’t go exactly as planned and am fuelled by a passion to amplify the voices of those on the margins…
    oh, and coffee…lots of coffee.

Simple Chocolate Nests with Mini Eggs

March 23, 2016

This is a super simple Easter treat – Chocolate nests with mini eggs. What I love about this project is that the kids can basically do it all. Of course children should always operate a stove under adult supervision but even the little ones have a great time placing the eggs in the nests.

What You’ll Need:

1 pkg of Chocolate Chips (approximately 2 cups)
 1 pkg of Butterscotch Chips
Approximately 5 cups of Chow Mein noodles
 Mini Eggs

 Method:

Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips in a large pot over medium heat, stirring frequently.
Once all the chips are melted turn off heat and add chow mein noodles. I use about half a package and  for this project I used mostly thin ones with about a cup of the larger ones for variation.

Once all the noodles are coated spoon out on a lined cookie sheet, flattening a bit in the middle.
Then just add your eggs. Let cool

Super easy! I did mine with Rice Krispies, but I think I like the chow mein noodles one better!
