A New Year’s Message for those with nothing but hope.
January 1, 2013
I love New year’s day. I love the quietness of reflection – no conclusions necessary. There is so much of 2012 that I want to remember and so much of it I would rather forget knowing that without each and every moment, I would not be the person I am today, in 2013. For the past six months we have clung to hope…and continue to do so, because without it, we will fall. Sometimes, life does not always work out the way we thought it would, the way that we hoped it would, the way that we wanted it to. Sometimes, when we pray for blessing, God gives us trials and sometimes when we pray for encouragement, God is silent. I wish I could say that it was otherwise but today, I want to talk to the people for whom, hope is all they have going into 2013. Be it in a little way, or a big way, they have come out of a year of being without, of waiting on God, of crying out, “How long, O Lord?!”
I don’t have answers. For many, like it is for us, you never thought it would go on this long in the first place – the hurt, the pain, the waiting for blessing without resistance. I don’t have answers. But I guess I just wanted to say, you’re not alone.
Hope.
Trust.
Healing will come. The job will come. God will speak. 2013. It’s your year.
