We arrived later than Good Friday and the queue was already to the College gates. The sky was grey but there was anticipation in the air. As we filed in slowly to Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in G I found a place at the end of a row closest to the altar. The murmur of the crowd mellowed and from the antechapel the joyful Introit of the choir echoed.
