  • About Me

    Hi, I’m Krista.

    Strategic communicator and storyteller.

I am the wife of a very talented musician who takes me around the world in pursuit of excellence. Mama to Jakob, Audrey and Ella, who just happens to have Down Syndrome.
And an aspiring disciple of Jesus, defender of the oppressed, writer, graphic designer and photographer.

I write and speak on navigating through the fog of life…you know, when things don’t go exactly as planned and am fuelled by a passion to amplify the voices of those on the margins…
    oh, and coffee…lots of coffee.

First Snow

November 24, 2015

It snowed today. I suppose most Edmontonians would sigh a resolute “finally” but for us Vancouverites, snow is a novelty -you let the kids stay home from school to play because you never know if it will last longer than an hour. And while I know that by February I will be cursing the white stuff, we celebrated the arrival of winter, Vancouver-style and did indeed stay home. Okay because of the snow but also because Ella is fighting some GI bug and the idea of packing both the girls into the car after being up with one or both of them for most of the night just to take Jakob to school made me want to crawl into a hole. Needless to say, the Ewerts had a pajama day – until they were ready to go outside that is.

It was this little girl’s first snow. I think she liked it, or at least liked watching her brother and sister play in it.
