  • About Me

    Hi, I’m Krista.

    Strategic communicator and storyteller.

I am the wife of a very talented musician who takes me around the world in pursuit of excellence. Mama to Jakob, Audrey and Ella, who just happens to have Down Syndrome.
And an aspiring disciple of Jesus, defender of the oppressed, writer, graphic designer and photographer.

I write and speak on navigating through the fog of life…you know, when things don’t go exactly as planned and am fuelled by a passion to amplify the voices of those on the margins…
    oh, and coffee…lots of coffee.

Lest we forget

November 11, 2013
at the American War Memorial in Cambridge, England
In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie

         In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

         In Flanders fields.
Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae
Truth be told, I’m probably a pacifist because I oppose war and violence. But just because I do not endorse war, does not mean that I do not remember the men who lived and died in war. I do not turn a blind eye the victims of war who fight their own battles without guns, or uniform or medals. I will not forget. And I will pray for peace.
