Autumn Rush: Reminiscing about a sunnier day with the Kennedy’s

October 1, 2013

I felt like Autumn rushed in over the weekend. Suddenly, on Saturday it was a torrential downpour as parents huddled out on the soccer field and children got DRENCHED as the rain pelted them from the side. And then I woke up this morning (at regular time, being 6am) to complete darkness. Light did not make an appearance until at least 7am. Vancouver fall has arrived but in a clumsy unwelcomed way.
And while the moments I could cozy up by the fire were divine, I just felt a little robbed of the weather we had, say, last weekend when I had the pleasure of capturing this family enjoying the last days of summer at their little cabin.

I know that some parents worry about the idea of taking photos at the beach. They think the time will be spent frantically rounding up the children and trying to get them to smile, but let’s face it, children play and in my experience they play best at the beach. Plus, it provides such a beautiful natural backdrop. I love that this family chose a place that was special to them and now they will have these memories to cherish for years to come.
