    Hi, I’m Krista.

    Strategic communicator and storyteller.

I am the wife of a very talented musician who takes me around the world in pursuit of excellence. Mama to Jakob, Audrey and Ella, who just happens to have Down Syndrome.
And an aspiring disciple of Jesus, defender of the oppressed, writer, graphic designer and photographer.

I write and speak on navigating through the fog of life…you know, when things don’t go exactly as planned and am fuelled by a passion to amplify the voices of those on the margins…
    oh, and coffee…lots of coffee.

I Survived Half-term Day One.

February 13, 2012

What is half-term? Here in the UK they work hard and play hard. The school system follows a basic calendar of 3 terms: Michaelmus (Fall), Lent (New Year to Easter) and Summer (May-July). There are 3-4 weeks inbetween the terms and a week-long half term break mid term. If you ask me, way better than all these flex fridays, professional development days, etc. This week is half-term and while I love having my boy home, it takes some adjusting to the energy level.

Day one:
Out of the house by 9am
Hot Chocolate
Library
Errands
Lunch
Nap, Video and Blog time
School- in which we learned about the letter B. Had P.E. Learned about the letter E. Had spanish and then playtime inside because it was raining during which, we built snowmen…out of playdough. I managed to snap some pics before I was reprimanded by the teacher.

Tea time
Trip to the store
Our regular daily routine of emptying out the tupperware cupboard.

Supper.
Unwind….aaahhhhh.
