    Hi, I’m Krista.

    Strategic communicator and storyteller.

I am the wife of a very talented musician who takes me around the world in pursuit of excellence. Mama to Jakob, Audrey and Ella, who just happens to have Down Syndrome.
And an aspiring disciple of Jesus, defender of the oppressed, writer, graphic designer and photographer.

I write and speak on navigating through the fog of life…you know, when things don’t go exactly as planned and am fuelled by a passion to amplify the voices of those on the margins…
    oh, and coffee…lots of coffee.

Target Gets It.

January 7, 2012

Just over a month ago, I wrote this post drawing attention to the UK’s newest baby model Taya and said that the world needed more Down Syndrome. Thank you Target for stepping up to the plate!

Recently, Target put out a new advertisement featuring a little boy with Down Syndrome.
In response, Noah’s Dad wrote a post commending Target for recognizing that people with Down Syndrome deserve to be treated just like everyone else. They recognize that children with disabilities wear clothes just like everyone else and they are beautiful just like everyone else. Well, needless to say the story has spread like wild fire and gone national making it to the headlines at ABC news. I am floored by the support and response and am deeply encouraged. Please, if you haven’t already, check it out.
