    Hi, I’m Krista.

    Strategic communicator and storyteller.

I am the wife of a very talented musician who takes me around the world in pursuit of excellence. Mama to Jakob, Audrey and Ella, who just happens to have Down Syndrome.
And an aspiring disciple of Jesus, defender of the oppressed, writer, graphic designer and photographer.

I write and speak on navigating through the fog of life…you know, when things don’t go exactly as planned and am fuelled by a passion to amplify the voices of those on the margins…
    oh, and coffee…lots of coffee.

Catching up is hard to do…

May 1, 2011

especially when you get so behind at such a meaningful time. There is so much to expand on so I will take it post by post and start with some photos from our recent trip to Kelowna.

The trip was originally planned for my Nana’s internment in Oliver, however I was also hoping for a little break from the chaos of our busy schedules, moving and the snow. The kids were pretty good on the plane: Jakob better than Ella oddly enough. Little miss has entered the “I don’t want to sit still” stage and of course, there is no reasoning with her. Jakob was content to eat his bribery smarties and watch treehouse – he was just happy to be on a plane….finally.
It wasn’t as much of a break for this momma with 2 kids and a set of slate stairs but I couldn’t have asked for better weather: the sun was shining and it was a balmy 12 degrees.
We finally found it…Spring. After 4 long months of waiting…
Some of us however, got some much needed rest….
And some even more needed vitamin D. It’s hard to believe we haven’t been to a playground in four months…
There is finally light at the end of this dreary tunnel. Let’s never do that again….
