This is an interesting article I came across today. If you have the time, I would be interested to know your thoughts while I take some time to articulate my own stance on this very controversial issue.
I liked the first lady with twins response. It is going to suck if we have a world full of "normal people". It would be like that movie Galactica. I hate that. However, it would be nice if they found a way to minimize some of the heart conditions or serious health issues that follow. Ella is Ella because of her genetic make up and unique soul and Jacob is Jacob because of his genetic make up and unique soul. Vive la Difference. I would probably sympathize with the mother's stance however I still think that finding ways to cope is great. Even with my "difference" in sensitivities - I am so glad I have books, counselling and research equipped for me to understand myself but if they ever came up with a way to make me "completely normal"- the standard brain function- I would be insulted and loose my greatest gift and my greatest weakness...then what would be the point of me being me?
